Disclaimer

FreeConvertor's tools are built and tested carefully, but like all software they have limits. Please read this page before using the tools for anything important, and always keep your original files.

Document fidelity

Page operations (merge, split, rotate, reorder, delete, extract) copy pages without re-rendering them. Document-level features such as bookmarks, some interactive form fields, attachments and embedded scripts may not be carried over. Any change to a digitally signed PDF invalidates its signature. Check page counts and content before filing documents with courts, authorities or clients.

Compression and conversion

The Lossless level of Compress PDF keeps content intact but may save little. The Balanced and Strong levels, PDF to JPG and PDF to PNG turn pages into images: text is no longer selectable or searchable and fine detail may be reduced. Image tools that save as JPG or WebP use lossy compression, and JPG cannot store transparency. Image outputs do not keep EXIF metadata.

Passwords and encryption

Protect PDF applies standard AES-256 PDF encryption. Its protection depends on the strength and secrecy of your password; we cannot recover forgotten passwords. A password does not redact content, and very old PDF readers may not support AES-256.

Browser and device limits

Processing uses your device's memory. Very large files may fail or be slow, particularly on phones. Some formats depend on browser support — for example HEIC images or WebP export on older Safari versions.

Information in guides

Guides and tool descriptions are general information, written in good faith and corrected when we learn of errors. They are not legal, financial, medical or security advice, and third-party limits (such as upload caps or browser support) can change. When compliance matters — redaction, record retention, accessibility — consult a qualified professional.
